Route 16 auto-pedestrian accident with serious injury; GPD investigating

The Guam Fire Department received a 911 call reporting an auto versus pedestrian accident on Route 16 and 7-Day Supermarket at 5:55 am.

Emergency units were on the scene at 5:59 am. An adult female with serious injuries was transported to GRMC at 6:07 am.

All southbound lanes were closed as traffic was re-routed. At 7:30 am, GPD reported that Route 16 Army Drive right by Fatima Road in Harmon is now open.

Officers from the Dededo Precinct Command responded to the auto-pedestrian crash.

According to GPD, preliminary reports suggest that a Toyota Tacoma was traveling on the inner southbound lane in Route 16, had struck a woman that was walking on the inner lane.

The female victim was later transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care.

Traffic Investigators assigned to GPD’S Highway Patrol Division were later activated to assume the crash investigation.

This case remains open.
