Guam – The Guam Department of Public Works advises that the second phase of construction began today [Saturday] at the intersection the Route 4 & Chalan Canton Tutujan Street.
DPW and contractor personnel will be on-site to position road markers, signage and barriers to direct traffic onto the northbound side of the roadway going towards Hagatna.
Traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction on Route 4. However, it is anticipated that traffic flow will be improved during morning rush hour for northbound commuters.
Left turn access onto Chalan Canton Tutuhan from Route 4 will still be available for motorists.
Traffic will also be restricted to one lane in each direction on Chalan Canton Tutujan. Between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, there will be NO LEFT TURNS ALLOWED ONTO ROUTE 4 FROM CHALAN CANTON TUTUHAN SINAJANA. This will allow for a NON-STOP GREEN LIGHT for motorists heading north towards Hagatna on Route 4.
Drivers are asked to proceed with caution as they travel along Route 4 and to observe and obey all traffic signs and directions. The DPW thanks Guam’s motoring public for their continued cooperation as they work to hard to make our roads the best that they can be!
