Guam – Monsoon motocross champions were crowned during the final round of the seven round RPM Yamaha and Cycles Plus Honda Monsoon Motocross Series that was held this past Sunday out at the Guam International Raceway in Yigo. The racing action kicked off at just after 1pm under clear skies and was, once again, free to the public to come out and watch.
Race Highlights
In the Open Motorcycle class #11 Michael Limtiaco, supported by Pacific Trucking and aboard a Kawasaki Kxf450, swept the series by taking his seventh overall round win of the season making him the undisputed Open Motorcycle class Monsoon series champion. Taking second place for the round and sliding himself into second overall in the final standings was #94 Bryan Barker, aboard his Yamaha Yzf450. Taking third place overall in the series was Triple J supported #33 Jake Jones, aboard a Honda Crf250. #25 Lawrence Limtiaco, supported by Fleet Services aboard a Kawasaki Kxf450, finished fourth in the series standings while #52 Tom Tarnate rounded out the top five aboard his Kawasaki Kxf250.
In the Open Atv class it was a Suzuki Ltr450 podium sweep for the series championship. #1 Robert Bucek, racing the Cycles Plus Suzuki Ltr450, took the championship also by sweeping the series and placing no less than first in each of the seven rounds of the series. #20 Jerry Joaquin, aboard his Suzuki Ltr450, just edged out Suzuki mounted #16 Jeremiah Shelton for second in the series with 220 points earned to Shelton’s 218 points by taking a second place finish in the final round of that series. Taking fourth in the series championship was #5 Marcus Guerrero aboard the Pine Rental Services supported Honda Trx450. Rounding out the top five in the final series standings was #2 Keara Bucek racing for team RPM Yamaha and racing aboard a Simpson family backed machine.
In the kids 85cc Minibike class #1 JR Cepeda, supported by Johnstone Supplies and aboard a Kawasaki Kx85, showed his dominance of the class by taking the round seven win and the 85cc class championship. #12 Andrew Ignacio, aboard his Yamaha Yz85, took second place for round seven but it was #9 Suzuki Rm85 mounted Frank Marshal Vawters who took the runner up position for the series championship with his round seven third place finish. Taking third in the championship series standings was #111 Jacob Einloth aboard his Honda Cr85. #12 Andrew Ignacio placed fourth in the series standings while #14 Anthony Ignacio rounded out the top five aboard his Yamaha Yz85.
Kids Open Atv class saw #9 Ramon Torres, aboard the Haul Pro Apex 90, completely destroy the competition on his way to the Monsoon series championship. Taking second in the round and the series was #3 Bernabe Guerrero aboard his Pine Rental Services DRX 90. Taking third for the round was #8 Janissa Torres aboard a Haul Pro supported DRX90. Taking third in the series championship however was #99 Victoria Clark aboard the Dream Catchers Apex 70. Taking fourth was #83 Raven Girgan aboard her team Dream Catchers Polaris 90. Rounding out the top five for the series was #6 Stoney Bucek aboard a Simpson Family owned DRX70.
