AGANA GUAM – Bank of Guam’s 11th annual ifit 5k was, without a doubt, a huge success. Over 1,700 hundred runners showed up to Agana early Saturday morning. In honor of the upcoming Festival of the Pacific Arts, the Bank of Guam ifit 5k had a slightly different look than previous years. The purpose and theme of this year’s race was to make it a cultural experience for the entire community. Inetnon Gef Pago Dancers, torch carriers, Drummers & I Fanlala’an Chanters, kicked off the event with performances before the start of the race. The first place finisher for the men was Japanese visitor, Yamaguchi Yuki who surprised the field to finish first with a time of 15:44, and took home the $1,000 grand prize. Local runner Charile Epperson finished in 2nd at 15:50. For the Female division it was Manami Iijima who crossed the finish line at 18:05 to take top honors and the $1,000 prize.
