Saipan authorities investigating lifeless body found near beach

A man was discovered laying under a bench unresponsive in Chalan Kanoa, Saipan on Friday.

Authorities in Saipan are investigating the discovery of an unidentified male individual who was found by officers patrolling district number 4 on the beach side.

CNMI Spokesperson Adrian Pangelinan says, “One of the officers noticed that the individual did not look like he was breathing, so both officers exited their vehicle while notifying dispatch of their location and to have medics on stand by. As they continued to approach the pavilion the officers continued to speak and ask for a response from the individual.”

Authorities noted that the man was cold to the touch and no pulse could be found. Pangelinan says, “At approximately 1:20 am, the body of the victim was brought to C-H-C for further examination as Dr. Rodney Klassen pronounced the victims time of death to be about 1:25 am.”
