Saipan Police Searching for Two Missing Female Tourists


Saipan – Department of Public Safety police officers and firefighters are searching for two Japanese sisters have been reported missing after they failed to appear at their scheduled departure on Monday and their rental car was found parked at Wing Beach.

As of Tuesday afternoon surface crews were still searching the surrounding area of Mariana Resort and Spa and Wing Beach for the sisters, aged 28 and 33 years old. The U.S. Coast Guard has also joined the search by assisting DPS via an aerial search.

A surface dive will be conducted off the shore this morning, Wednesday, since there is evidence that the two victims had an inflatable raft in their possession.

The sisters were staying at Mariana Resort and were last spotted by hotel staff in the parking lot on Sunday afternoon beside their rental car. The tourists reportedly arrived on Saipan on Saturday morning. They were scheduled to depart on Monday, June 30, at 6am.
