Salvation Army Needs Volunteers For Bell Ringing & Toy Shop Program

Guam- The Salvation Army needs more bell ringers for the week of Christmas.

Development Coordinator April Manibusan says typically, they get over 500 volunteers to fill in 600-some time slots for bell ringing during the holiday season. While school clubs have been calling to volunteer their time, Manibusan mentions they need help filling the most vacancies, which usually occurs the week of Christmas.

“We encourage other schools, other school clubs if they want to do community service” said Manibusan. “They can definitely contact us and other organizations or families or individuals out there that just want to help us out. They can definitely give us a call and we’ll let them know what slots are available and what locations are convenient for them and they can just sign up.”

Manibusan adds that Santa’s Toy Shop program is also going to receive $20 thousand dollars worth of toys donated by by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce tomorrow [Tuesday]. However, they still need some volunteers to help with the program. For more information on the bell ringing or the toy shop program, call (671) 477-9872.
