Guam – Congressman Michael San Nicolas is enlisting the help of Republican senators to support his War Claims bill.
In an effort to give back to those who were affected by World War II, Guam Congressman Michael San Nicolas is seeking the U.S. Congress’ support to pass H.R. 1365.
But because Congress requires both the House of Representatives and the Senate to pass legislation, the Republican-controlled Senate is critical in getting the bill passed.
Due to the fact that the bill’s passage is a bi-partisan issue, San Nicolas is seeking aid from local Republican Party leadership.
Earlier today, San Nicolas wrote to Jerry Crisostomo, Guam Republican Party chair, for his help in getting support for the bill from a Republican U.S. Senator. He is currently awaiting his response.
With a Natural Resources Committee mark-up hearing planned for June 19, San Nicolas said that he will work from every angle to press for this issue to be resolved.
