The Santa Fe Hotel on Governor Carlos Camacho Road became the third island hotel to be designated a quarantine holding facility for incoming passengers from the Philippines under the mandatory quarantine policy ordered by the Governor.
Just like yesterday, the passengers from this morning’s flights from Manila were bused to the hotel and Guam police are posted outside the Santa Fe as well.
Yesterday two hotels on Ypao Road were called into service as quarantine centers — The Wyndham Garden and Days Inn.
The people in quarantine are not allowed to leave their hotels and they can not receive visitors. However, they do have access to a phone and the internet.
One of those quarantined at the Day’s Inn spoke with K-57’s Patti Arroyo this morning. He identified himself only as “Joe.”
He said he has no symptoms of COVID-19 at this time but public health nurses are monitoring everyone’s condition and taking their temperatures twice a day.
“To leave our room we have to go down to pick up items from our family that they have dropped off. It’s in the front desk area where the nurses are monitoring our temperatures. That’s the only time we’re allowed in,” Joe said.
Joe said that among his concerns is how he is going to get his laundry done and whether he can get cleaning supplies so that he can clean and disinfect his hotel room.
A representative from the governor’s office, he said, has been responding to those concerns.
