Santa Rita, Vietnam Vets, DPW, G4S Win First Place for Their Categories in Liberation Floats


Guam – Santa Rita once again took first place in the Village Category for Liberation Day Parade floats.
The results from Monday’s 70th Liberation Day festivities were released by the Mayors Council of Guam this morning.  See below for the full results.

The following are the results of the 70th Liberation Day Parade Float/Entry winners.


Village Category

1st Place: Santa Rita

2nd Place: Agat

3rd Place: Talofofo


Government of Guam Category

1st Place: Department of Public Works

2nd Place: Port Authority of Guam

3rd Place: Guam Power Authority


Civic/Community/Non-Profit Category

1st Place: Vietnam Veteran’s of America Chapter 686

2nd Place: TaTuHa Inc.

3rd Place: Agana Heights Athletics Association/Naval Hospital Guam



1st Place: G4S Secure Solutions (Guam) Inc.

2nd Place: Mid-Pacific Distributors

3rd Place: Guam Regional Medical City


The Floats were judged on the following criteria:

1. Theme Portrayal;

2. Creativity;

3. Attractiveness;

4. Use of Natural Materials;

5. Construction;

6. Kinetic features (movements, mechanical enhancements);

7. Sound (music, sound effects);

8. Participant involvement and;

9. Overall display.

Awards and Trophies will be handed out at the Carnival Ground on July 27th, 2014 at 7:00pm right before the Liberation Raffle Drawing.
