Manenggon, Guam – Guam Basesball Academy kicked off the Saturday Youth Baseball Clinic at Leo Palace Resort with the 9-12 year old age group starting the first of five clinics designed to help develop fundamentals and technical skills for baseball and softball.  The first clinic started off with “Throw & Catch” with the fundamentals of how to properly throw and catch as well as some more advanced type throws and catching skills.

The 9-12 year old Saturday Youth Clinics continue next Saturday 8:30am-12:00pm with the focus on the proper fundamentals of infield mechanics with drills designed to work on fast feet and quick hands. Glove mechanics and repetitive basic upper and lower body mechanics are executed to make the player feel the movements of fielding a ground ball. Players will work on the skill of lateral movements, charging, creating angles and various approaches to fielding ground balls. The day will finish up with an instructional game designed to practice the infield skills practiced during the three hour clinic.  This clinic will teach the fundamentals and technical skills necessary to be a Gold Glove infielder.
