Search for Wanted Person Prompts “Heightened Alert”, “Modified Lockdown” at 3 DOE Schools


Guam – Three Dededo Schools went on alert this morning after Marshals pulled over a vehicle on Donna Lane. The individual inside, fled from the vehicle on foot.

GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia said that the gates to the schools were closed while the search was underway.

Deputy DOE Superintendent Robert Malay said shortly after 8am, Maria Ulloa and Wettengel went on “Heightened State of Alert”. Benevente Middle School he said was on a “Modified Lockdown”.

Malay said that authorities advised him that they were looking for a suspect who is about 5-feet 1-inch in height, possibly Chamorro, wearing black pants and black shirt. He said they didn’t find him on any of the school properties.

Malay said the alert at all 3 Dededo schools was lifted shortly before 10am.
