At the conclusion of a “Post-Audit” on the Port Authority of Guam’s (PAG) hiring practices, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has deliberated on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, that the PAG were in compliance and not in violation of any applicable rules and laws for recruitment.

Senator Nelson sent a memorandum to the CSC on January 28, 2021 for a Post-Audit to be conducted on the hiring practices of PAG to confirm that they are in accordance with the laws of Guam and the rules and regulations, especially with regards to hiring individuals with previous criminal history.

With a unanimous vote of 5-0, the CSC has agreed that the PAG is in compliance of current laws and regulations, and that no further action be taken. As the Chairwoman on the Committee on Maritime Transportation, Senator Nelson takes great appreciation and thanks to both the CSC and the PAG for their time and consideration in conducting this Post-Audit.

“I respect the decision of the Civil Service Commission and I thank them for their due diligence, on this matter. Our Port employees have worked tirelessly throughout the years and during the Pandemic. I am confident that they will continue their commitment and service by upholding the highest standard for the people of Guam.”
