PRESS STATEMENT OF SEN. FRANK B. AGUON, JR ON CONTINUING THREATS OF NORTH KOREA
Hagatna, GU – Senator Frank B. Aguon, Jr. Chairman on the Committee on Guam U.S. Military Relocation, Homeland Security, Veterans’Affairs and Judiciary, has made the following statement in response to the continuing threat issued by the North Korean military:
“As Guam, the United States and U. S Asian allies continue to receive threats from North Korea on the possible use of military force against their adversaries, we as an island community must acknowledge these threats and continue to recognize that U.S. military leaders and our island leaders have provided continual assurances that appropriate defense systems are in place to defend against the possible aggressive use of force by North Korea. As we observe this Holy Week with prayer, I encourage our people to keep the U.S. military and diplomatic leaders in our prayers as they work through these challenging times in advocating and promoting peace in this region and throughout the world, and in further preventing the unnecessary use of military force.”
