Senator Barnes Hopes to Solve Little League Tournament Predicament

Guam – Senator Tina Muna Barnes held a roundtable discussion today to help ensure that Guam is able to host a little league regional tournament scheduled for July.

Coordinators of the Guam little league want to use the baseball fields at the Dededo sports complex for the regional tournament but the Department of Parks and Recreation have said that the fields are not ready for use. Senator Barnes is bringing together all of the stakeholders involved to figure out how to prepare Guam to host this regional tournament. “Hopefully as we’ve seen previous organizations bring successful tournaments here to Guam regional and international tournaments here to Guam we’re hoping that the games come July for little league baseball will be just as great of a success.”

The baseball fields at the Dededo sports complex were dedicated to the Guam little league and were handed over to the Department of Parks and recreation in January.
