Guam – Senator Judi Guthertz has sent a letter to FISC Detachment Marianas about the Navy’s sole-source procurement of a contract with Chugach Alaska Corporation to operate the Navy’s Child Development Center.

Her letter is addressed to Captain Michael Uva and in it the senator asks for his assistance to shed light on what she says is “developing into a significant Guam controversy.”

The senator explains how her office was contacted by seven women who were formerly employed by the Navy’s CDC until the Chugach Alaska Corporation was awarded operation of the CDC via a sole-source procurement.

The senator is asking for an explanation as to why the women weren’t retained and why the contract was sole-source procured.
