Senator Pangelinan Calls On Bordallo to Salvage Funding Federal Managers Say Was Lost

Guam – Senator Ben Pangelinan has sent a letter to Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, requesting her assistance to represent Guam’s interest related to potential funding from the United States Health and Human Services Administration, which the Federal Management Team (FMT) of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse claims it lost for its proposed Center.
Senator pangelinan also sent a letter to the FMT to work with the Congresswoman as well as the government of Guam, through providing its point of contact at the Health and Human Services Administration and the documented reason(s) for withholding any funding that will help ensure a successful remediation of the plaintiff’s and court’s concerns.

Senator pangelinan says, “With the challenges the government of Guam faces today, this latest Federal encroachment into territorial matters should also include funding to ensure that the federally mandated services are available to all residents.  I encourage Congresswoman Bordallo and the FMT to work collaboratively and to have open communication that will ultimately be beneficial to providing funding for the FMT’s Plan of Action pursuant to the mandates of the District Court”.
