Senator San Nicolas Not Backing Down, Despite Criticism Over His Amendment to Ban Gambling After GMH Debt Paid

Guam  – In response to criticism over his amendment ending all gaming after the GMH debt is paid, Senator Mike San Nicolas issued a brief statement making clear he has not changed his position.

The Senator points out that Bill #19 which contains his amendment was passed unanimously. And despite objections from the Man’ amko over the possible loss of Bingo San Nicolas states that he believes “in the ingenuity of our people to develop new methods of fundraising, new business models for cockfighting, and new activities for our senior citizens, which do not rely on gambling.”

Senator Michael F.Q. San Nicolas released the following statement on his amendment to Bill 19-32 (COR). The bill was passed unanimously by I Mina’trentai Dos na Liheslaturan Guåhan:

“I believe in the ingenuity of our people to develop new methods of fundraising, new business models for cockfighting, and new activities for our senior citizens, which do not rely on gambling. This higher calling will preserve the integrity of our causes, the health of our activities, and the safety of our future generations – all a part of building a Responsible Guam.”
