Guam – Senator Mana Silva Taijeron Monday introduced a bill that seeks to expedite the repairs to the Bile and Pigua bridges in Malesso.
The bridges have been in a state of disrepair for more than 5 years, and as a result, traffic along those main thoroughfares has been reduced to single lanes of travel.
“These bridges have posed safety concerns for residents, and have also resulted in serious traffic delays.” Senator Taijeron says, “Malesso residents are tired of excuses, and just want to see these bridges repaired.”
Taijeron’s bill also seeks to expedite repairs to the erosion problems affecting the Agat-Umatac road. The erosion has created a steep drop off, which is extremely hazardous to motorists and pedestrians.
Taijeron says “We cannot wait until someone gets hurt to get this road fixed.”
