Curfews are a little closer to being a reality on Guam.
Senators on Wednesday moved Bill 335 to the voting file. That’s the measure that would allow the Governor to impose islandwide curfews.
At their emergency session, lawmakers continued discussion over the bill, which prompted some emotional testimony in favor of the measure.
Senator Telena Cruz Nelson said: “Five deaths … it could have been my grandfather, it could have been my grandmother, it could have been…anyone in my family. Does it have to happen to us directly for us to do something? Or, can we not meet the people in their suffering.”
Senators will reconvene tomorrow at 3 pm to vote on this bill and others in the voting file.
