Workers with reduced hours can now apply online for PUA.

Reduced-hour workers got good news last week when Guam Department of Labor Director Dave Dell'Isola announced that they now qualify for PUA.

On Tuesday morning, Dell'Isola told Newstalk K57's Patti Arroyo that they can now apply online at the Hire Guam website.

Dell'Isola did say that although reduced-hour workers can apply, not all features of the Hire Guam website have been updated to reflect the change.

The Guam Fire Department responded to an auto-cras

The Guam Fire Department responded to an auto-crash in Tamuning Tuesday afternoon.

According to GFD Acting Spokesperson Cherika Chargualaf, two motor vehicles collided a little after 4 p.m. in front of the Guam Energy Office.

One injured person was reported and transported to GMH.

Chargualaf said she is unsure if speed, drugs, or alcohol were contributors to the crash.

This case is under investigation.

Fuel prices have increased again after the price o

Fuel prices have increased again after the price of regular gas rose to $4.29 per gallon.

It was only a little after a week ago, on Feb. 19, that gas prices rose by 10 cents to $4.19 a gallon.

Mobil, as of Monday, March 1, has its regular unleaded gas priced at $4.29 a gallon.

The three fuel companies on island usually mirror each other’s prices and when one company increases its price, the others follow.

2020 Guam Gas Price Changes:

*January 1: $4.15

January 8: 10-cent increase to $4.25
January 23: 10-cent decrease to $4.15
February 3: 10-cent decrease to $4.05
March 3: 10-cent decrease to $3.95
March 10: 10-cent decrease to $3.85
March 13: 15-cent decrease to $3.70
March 25: 20-cent decrease to $3.50
April 1: 20-cent decrease to $3.30
April 9: 15-cent decrease to $3.15
April 17: 10-cent decrease to $3.05
April 24: 7-cent decrease to $2.98
May 7: 15-cent increase to $3.13
May 19: 15-cent increase to $3.28
June 4: 15-cent increase to $3.43
June 12: 15-cent increase to $3.58
July 27: 10-cent increase to $3.68

December 17: 10-cent increase to $3.78

The Spanish Navy training ship Juan Sebastian de E

The Spanish Navy training ship Juan Sebastian de Elcano arrived at on Guam, Friday, Feb. 26.

The Elcano was greeted by Commander, Joint Region Marianas Rear Adm. John Menoni, Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio.

The Elcano's visit commemorates the 500th anniversary of the Magellan-Elcano circumnavigation. The current expedition will take naval training sailing ships across the Atlantic to Argentina, through the Straits of Magellan, and across the Pacific Ocean, passing Guam and the Philippines on their way back to the Spanish port of Cádiz.

The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Guam held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday to officially open the airport’s international arrivals corridor Phase 1.

John Quinata, the executive manager of the GIAA, says this is a huge milestone for the international airport as this is much needed since 9/11.

“So basically what happens now, the passengers that are arriving at Guam that are coming in from international destinations, they will go into this international corridor and go up to the third floor and then walk all the way down to customs and border protection,” Quinata said.

He added: “Overall, this takes away the commingling of departing and arriving passengers to and from Guam which is a TSA requirement that was implemented by the airport since 9/11.”

Moving forward, Quinata said the airport expects the east arrival corridor to be completed later this year.

For Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero, the visit of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano Spanish Navy ship provides an opportunity to express and articulate the CHamoru narrative and put Guam's ancestors at the forefront of this event.

The Governor's Office held a press conference Thursday afternoon announcing the arrival of the Spanish Navy ship as part of the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Magellan-Elcano circumnavigation.

The Spanish Navy ship arrived on Guam, Friday, February 26.

The Juan Sebastián de Elcano Spanish Navy ship's current expedition follows the original Magellan-Elcano circumnavigation of the globe.
