Guam – Lawmakers are in session today.

A number of items have been also added to the agenda including Resolution 339 which amends the legislature’s standing rules to ensure the timely public hearing of all bills by all sponsors. The resolution was prompted by a recent fight between Democrats over whether or not Senator Mike San Nicolas could hold bills in his committee without holding a public hearing. Senator San Nicolas has said he held the bills in his committee because there was no funding for them. Bill 295 was also added which would provide GDOE with additional funding to pay the $7 million dollars owed to it’s vendors. Bill 294 was added which provides additional funding to the Guam Election Commission for fiscal year 2016.
