Guam – Peter Sgro, Jr., presented a check in the amount of $10,000 payable to the Guam Medical Association at the American Medical Center in Upper Tumon.
The funds were earmarked for the purchase of medications Guam doctors will use in the care of patients while on a Medical Mission in the Philippines.
Arrangements were made for the medications to be on the ground when advance team leaders of the Medical Mission arrived in the Philippines last week.
“Our family felt that our local doctors and nurses now providing care to those suffering after Typhoon Haiyan, needed as much support as they could get,” said Sgro. “By providing them with access to additional medications while on the ground in the Philippines, would foster better outcomes to those they will be treating,” added Sgro.
Receiving the check is Hieu Campus M.D. of the American Medical Clinic.
