Shaliemar Edera recognized as a COVID-19 hero

With her arms full of boxes of pastries, local self-taught baker Shaliemar Yusingco Edera went to the Guam Memorial Hospital's emergency room to express her appreciation for those working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During her online news conference on Thursday, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero recognized another member of the community for being a COVID-19 Hero.

With her arms full of boxes of pastries, local self-taught baker Shaliemar Yusingco Edera went to the Guam Memorial Hospital’s Emergency room to express her appreciation for those working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Governor commended Edera for her kind gesture.

“Last week, she baked fresh macaroons, mocha cake, and banana bread for our frontliners at the GMH emergency room. I know her treats uplifted the spirit of the hardworking personnel at GMH and gave them the push as they continue to combat the spread of COVID-19. Thank you Shaliemar for your kind gesture and for being a COVID Hero,” the governor said.
