“The thing I try to do here with the spread at the Sheraton is to try to stay true to the flavors of the original dishes,” –explained Celebrity Chef Tatung Sarthou.

Guam – Travel to every region of the Philippines without ever leaving the island.

For a limited time only, enjoy authentic Filipino cuisine at La Cascata in the Sheraton Laguna Resort for a back-to-roots menu and culinary experience with featured Filipino celebrity Chef and Author Tatung Sarthou.

“What we did today was to do a selection of Filipino dishes. Some are very popular and some are quite new for some Filipinos because they are of regional origin and indigenous roots. And it’s something I just wanted to showcase –the diversity of Filipino cuisine, the different textures, the different flavor profiles as you go around the country,” he explained.

The Filipino buffet is only available until the and as an added bonus, there will be a special tasting menu on the 16th.

But before you assume this is your typical Philippine cuisine, Chef Sarthou says guests may find their favorite dishes taste a bit different.

“The thing I try to do here with the spread at Sheraton is to try to stay true to the flavors of the original dishes and not to gear away too much from being too creative so that people really experience what Filipino food is like. Especially for Filipinos who were born and raised here in Guam they probably have tasted versions of these dishes, but it’s quite different because they have to adapt to the local culture and all that,” he said.

Chef Sarthou recommends the Adobo, but adds that everything in the buffet was crafted with care.

The lunch buffet is available Tuesday through Saturday for $25 and dinner is open Tuesday through Thursday for $40 as well as on Fridays and Saturdays for $60.
