Shop for a Good Cause as T-Galleria Collaborates with Guam Cancer Care

Residents and travelers can now shop for a good cause as T-Galleria and Guam Cancer Care collaborate to help those affected by Cancer.

Richard Gustafson, Managing Director of Mid Pacific, DFS Group-Japan & Korea said, “Cancer not only affects the patient but the entire family. So we’re very happy to be able to– throughout our presence on the island, do something to make that journey as easy as it can be to those afflicted.”

Throughout the next two months, selected merchandise at T-Galleria will qualify for a $5 donation towards Guam Cancer Care as T-Galleria launches its DFS Cares campaign in support of Children and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Rachel Tan, Vice President of Operations for Mid Pacific of DFS Group Guam and Saipan said, “We really encourage and we allow our local community, our customers, even our tourists to enjoy the merchandise while doing good.”

Ellie Ongrung–the Program Director for Direct Services for Guam Cancer Care, tearfully mentioned that Guam Cancer Care was always open during the pandemic saying, “We have never shut our doors, we were always there for our patients.”

In an interview with PNC, Tan and Gustafson, talk about how customers, residents, and travelers can enjoy a shopping experience with a great cause.

Tan said, “We wanted to, at the same time, do good to the community. Support Guam Cancer Care, which is an organization that is very close to the hearts of our employees and to the local community as well.”

Gustafson added, “Also, we think big is best when big does good. So we want to be a big presence, but we want to do big good in the community, and this is a way for us to do that. While also staying true to our core values of providing a shopping experience.”

In addition to being able to donate $5 upon purchasing selected items, customers can also participate in a stamp rally to win exclusive prizes by T- Galleria and hotel partners, including the Tsubaki Tower, Westin Resort, Pacific Islands Club, and Hyatt Regency Guam Hotel.

The campaign is ongoing from September 1st to October 31st.
Only selected merchandise will qualify for a $5 donation, but donation boxes will be placed throughout T-Galleria for customers to make their donations in support of a great cause.
