As the island continues its fight against COVID-19, one small business has stepped up to help local front liners and other members of the community in this difficult time.
With a team of just 10 people, tongs, and hot grills, the members of the Sidelines Bar and Grill banded together since 5 am this morning to prepare 650 free meals to hospital staff, seniors, veterans, and those manning the island’s quarantine sites. Each meal had rice, barbecue, salad, and finadene.
Business owner John Ananich says that this just a small way to say…thank you.
“They’re out there putting their lives on the line for us and trying to fight this pandemic. It’s the least we can do. It’s a very small token of our appreciation, but I think everyone would be surprised to see what a little appreciation can do for the human spirit. It’s our way of saying thank you and to motivate our frontline workers to keep doing what they’re doing and let them know that the community is behind them. And we’re behind them as well,” Ananich said.
Veterans with ID can stop by Sidelines in Tamuning to pick up lunches between 2 and 4 pm on April 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 10.
