Guam – Simon Sanchez High School held a memorial service for Jaysine Petree this morning [Friday].
Family, friends and school officials and students who remembered her, mourned her death.
Her father Herbert Petree, a gurad at Guam’s Department of Corrections, laid a wreath in her memory.
The 19 year old was killed last week Friday in Afghanistan. She was a 2009 graduate of Simon Sanchez High School.
After her graduation she joined the Army and was a Private First Class assigned to the the 109th Transport Company [TC] out of Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. That is a motor transport division.
She had been in the Army for just 19 months when an Improvised Explosive Device [IED] took her life.
Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
