After years of delays, the long-awaited rebuilding of Simon Sanchez High School is closer to becoming a reality.
GDOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez said: “We’re inches from the goal line, I believe, in trying to get the architectural and engineering services contract done. We’re preparing it and finalizing the contract to go to the Attorney General’s office and then from there, to the Governor for her signature. So we hope to see all that happen in the next few weeks.”
Fernandez also states that if the process goes smoothly, they can start the design process of the new high school campus.
Back in December 2019, GDOE was to publish a Request for Proposal for architectural, engineering, and owner agent engineer services to be submitted in January 2020.
