Guam – The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) along with the Sinajana Mayor’s office announces the unveiling of the “We Are Sinajana”
village mural on Tuesday, August 10th at 10:00 am.

The unveiling takes place on Route 24 on the corner house of Chalan Kanton Tutujan & Papato Lane. The location is near the Sinajana Payless Market. The Sinajana mural is the twelfth mural to be completed with the We Are Guam Village Mural Project.

“This mural is something that I am proud to present to the people of Sinajana, and the people of Guam,” said Sinajana Mayor Roke Blas. “Our artist Raph Unpingco has creatively incorporated many iconic images from Sinajana’s past, things that many people did not know about—such as the cocoa tree, Sinajana used to be the main supplier of cocoa for the chocolate house. He also exemplified the true character of Sinajana which is the church and the people.”

“I feel a sense of pride being from Sinajana and driving past the mural knowing I took part in its beauty,” said Rodney Rios, a community volunteer. “I think the village mural project is great! Not only does it help beautify the villages, it brings the people of Guam together with the Håfa Adai Spirit.”

Other village murals have been unveiled at Mangilao, Barrigada, Yigo, Inarajan, Tamuning-Tumon-Harmon, Hagåtña, Agat, Piti, Mongmong-Toto-Maite, and Asan.

Last week the village of Chalan Pago Ordot unveiled its village mural.

Benson Hardware and the Mikel I.V. Tan Foundation have generously donated all paints and supplies for all of the village murals. Other businesses and donors have provided canopies, drinks, ice, meals, snacks and other supplies to support the artists and volunteers Organizations and individuals are encouraged to contact their mayor to volunteer for their village mural project
