A portion of Route 6 up on top of Nimitz Hill was closed today after a small sinkhole developing close to the pavement threatened to undermine the roadway.
Guam police issued a notice of hazardous road conditions and the road was shut down in both directions.

The Department of Public Works was called in to plug the hole. Traffic was re-routed through the Nimitz Flag Circle area and the Top o’ the Mar.
Motorists are asked to proceed with caution in that area until the DPW crew has made the necessary repairs.
