Guam – A small fire broke out at the Star Press building in Tamuning Monday evening. It was reported about 6:30 pm.
The Star Press is located behind the ITC building and units from the Tamuning Station arrived quickly to extinguished the blaze.
Its believed that there was no one inside the building at the time of the fire. Employees had been sent home early, leaving about 4 pm, because of a power outage in the area. There were no injuries.
Star Press owner Jose Peralta arrived with some family members and co-workers after the fire had been put out. He told PNC News that it appeared that the blaze was confined to the roof and he hoped that it was mostly smoke damage, although he had not had the opportunity to inspect the building yet.
When asked whether he was covered by insurance he said “Nobody insurers tin buildings.”
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
