This weekend, the Sorensen Media Group will hold a concert event to raise funds for Guam’s COVID-19 response effort that you can enjoy all from the comfort of your own home.
Featuring musicians and media personalities like Joe Guam, K57’s Patti Arroyo, and more, the SMG #STAYHOME Concert will be an hour-long, commercial-free show aimed to entertain for a great cause.
The event is part of a collaboration with the St. John’s School alumni association, which aims to raise $20,000 to supply local hospitals with personal protective equipment.
SMG Vice President of Radio Operations Kyle Mandapat says that he is excited about the event being a chance to give back to the community.
“Putting it together has been a blast. I got to talk to a lot of my friends who are in the entertainment scene. A lot of them don’t have their gigs going on because a lot of things are closed down, so they’re getting really antsy to perform. So with a worthy cause like COVID-19 frontline supplies, it’s a win-win for everyone,” Mandapat said.
The #STAYHOME Concert event will premiere Sunday, April 26, on ABC 7 at 5:30 pm and will also play on the Shark, Power 98, KATFM, and Newstalk K57. An encore show will run on FOX 6 at 7 pm.
