Guam (April 4, 2014) The Ralphy’s Lounge Smokies defeated the 76 Cardinals, 9-6, in the Budweiser Baseball League (BBL) at Paseo Stadium. Justin Elm got the win, while Josh Aguigui took the loss. Joe Blas with the Save. With the Smokies leading 9-1 going into the bottom of the 9th, Elm got into some trouble giving up five runs. However, Blas came in with two outs, and threw two pitches to Jesse Alerta. Alerta hit the second pitch on the ground to Paul Untalan, Jr. who scooped it for the last out.
For the Smokies, Shane Tenorio was 3-4, a double, 2 RBI. Jacob San Nicolas, 1-2, a home run, 2 RBI, and a run. Brandon Bamba, 1-5, and five runs scored. Keith Castro was 1-1, and an RBI. JP Taijeron, 1-3, with a run. Laurence Idelbong, 3-5, an RBI, and a run. Paul Taijeron, 2-4, three RBI, and a run.
For the Cardinals, Nick Cruz was 1-5, and two RBI. Joel Sablan, 1-3, an RBI, and a run. CJ San Miguel, 2-3, and a run scored. Mac Masuhiro was 1-4, an RBI, and a run.
With the win, the Smokies go to 2-5, while the Cardinals drop to 3-5.
