Tomorrow, elementary students will be given the opportunity to put their cooking skills to the test for the 2023 “Sodexo Future Chefs Challenge” over at Jose Rios Middle School tomorrow morning.
Elementary school students will put their culinary skills to the test to reimagine their favorite lunch meal with original and healthy recipes.
With about one in every three American kids and teens being overweight and obese according to the American Heart Association, this nationwide initiative targets the younger generation to create healthy food choices while using their creativity to be active in the kitchen.
As it stands, students who submit these healthy recipes will be going up against 2500 others nationwide. 10 finalists will be selected in the district-wide event and will then have to prepare and present their creations as they are assessed on originality, taste, kids friendliness, and use of healthy ingredients.
As stated in a press release, The Sodexo Future Chefs Challenge is just one of the many ways that the company shares its health and well-being expertise with the clients, customers, and the community it serves.
