Southern High School placed on lock-down during drug sweep

Although the results of the sweep have not been made public yet, GDOE spokesperson Isa Baza said information regarding any potential contraband found will be released in a forthcoming report.

Guam – Southern High School is the latest campus subjected to a school-wide drug sweep and subsequent lock down.

The Guam Department of Education, in collaboration with Guam Customs and Quarantine, conducted a canine drug sweep of Southern High School around 6:45 this morning.

The school was placed on modified lock down as officials searched the Santa Rita campus.

It’s still unclear if any contraband was found during the drug sweep.

According to GDOE’s Spokesperson Isa Baza, information regarding any potential contraband found on the campus will be released in an after-action report.

The lock down was lifted at approximately 10:30am.
