Guam – Southern High School’s GCC CTE Marketing team took top honors for the second consecutive year at today’s Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Quiz Bowl in the GCC Multipurpose Auditorium.
Nearly half of the 411 students enrolled in GCC CTE Marketing programs in the five public high schools gathered in the MPA today to cheer on their respective school teams. After today’s quiz bowl, the marketing students will take part in a role-play competition judged by local marketing professionals during the DECA State Event on February 27. The state event also includes a comprehensive exam that tests students’ marketing knowledge and skills. A school must win the quiz bowl competition and score well in the role-play and exam in order to attend the national DECA conference in May.
