Guam – Special Olympics Guam announces its Golf Exhibition 2010 Event. Golf Exhibition 2010 will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Admiral Nimitz Golf Course in Radio Barrigada.
This is the first time this sport is being offered to S.O.G. athletes. Over an eight-week training course, local Guam’s Golf Pro’s and coaches taught the athletes the basics swing mechanics and fundamentals of Golf. The Golf Exhibition 2010 stroke play format will be played over 9 holes. This exhibition event reinforces Special Olympics Guam commitment in exposing and promoting other sports to our athletes.
The Special Olympics Guam (SOG) is a non-profit organization dedicated in providing sporting opportunities for people with intellectual disability and the equality of opportunity for all our athletes regardless of ability or degree of disability since 1976. SOG is a global movement run entirely by volunteers. Volunteers who provide the power necessary to ensure every athlete is offered a sports training and competition experience and empower each athlete to be productive citizens.
The Golf Ehibition 2010 is this Saturday, December 18, at the Admiral Nimitz Golf Course in Radio Barrigada. The exhibition starts at 8:45am with an Opening Ceremony and a Shotgun Tee Off at 9:00am.
