4,400 pounds of food was collected by local letter carriers Saturday

Guam – More than 4,400 pounds of food was collected as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger event on Saturday.

The union holds the event throughout the national each year in collaboration with the united states postal service. Locally food is donated to Catholic Social Services, Salvation Army and Kamalen Karidat to help restock their food pantries. While the main event was held on Saturday you can still donate this week. Union member Norma Pinaula says its as easy as sending out a letter as you can put the non-perishable food items in your mailbox or drop them off at the nearest post office.
