Still no update on airman’s autopsy

Guam – Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola says he still has not received the results of the autopsy that was performed on Airman First Class Bradley Hale.

The 20-year-old airman, who was deployed to Guam’s Andersen Air Force Base from Barksdale, Louisiana, was found with what appeared to be a stab wound last Tuesday inside base quarters, according to Air Force Office of Special Investigations Spokeswoman Linda Card.

An Air Force forensic pathologist was flown into Guam from Okinawa to perform the autopsy last Friday but Dr. Espinola says the Air Force still has not provided him with a copy of the autopsy report.

Meanwhile, the Air Force last week announced that a suspect was in custody but had not yet been charged pending the results of the autopsy.

There has been no word or update from the Air Force about the case or whether or not the suspect was charged.
