Guam – 2 customers helped subdue an armed robbery suspect at the LP Water Ice Mart on Ypao Road last night.
According to a release from GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia, Gideon Keleb has been booked and confined for: 1st Degree Robbery, Terrorizing, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief and Use of a deadly Weapon in the commission of a Felony.
It happened about 9 pm. Keleb is alleged to have walked into the market, armed with a knife. Witnesses told police he grabbed 2 bottles of Vodka, and then tried to walk out.
The owner yelled at Keleb who then pulled out his knife and yelled back. “A customer who was in the store filling bottles of water, also was threatened by the suspect who brandished the knife towards him too”, reports Officer Balajadia.
Keleb then turned back towards the store owner, and the customer rushed at him and pushed him down. Keleb fell on a display case, and cut his head.
The store owner and customer struggled with him when a second customer also rushed in to assist. During the struggle, the store owner suffered a 1 and a half inch laceration to his right forearm.
The owner and customers held Keleb down until police arrived and made the arrest.

TAMUNING – 9:08pm, Tuesday, 5/20/14 officers from the Tumon/Tamuning Precinct received a call of a possible STABBING/ARMED ROBBERY at LP WATER ICE & MART off Ypao Road in Tamuning, with the suspect detained at location.
According to the complaint the suspect walked in, grabs two bottles of Vodka and attempts to walk out.
The owner yells at the suspect and the suspect brandishes a knife and yells in a threatening manner. The suspects continues to yell at the owner while brandishing the knife.
A customer who was in the store filling bottles of water, also was threatened by the suspect who brandished the knife towards him too.
When the suspect turned towards the store owner the customer rushed at and pushes the suspect who fell on to a displays striking his head on a shelf which caused a laceration to the suspects head.
The store owner and customer struggled with the suspect when a second customer rushed in to assist.
The store owner sustained 1 1/2 inch laceration to his right forearm.
Gideon Keleb was arrested for the following: 1st Degree Robbery, Terrorizing, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief and Use of a deadly Weapon in the commission of a Felony. Booked and Confined
