Guam – 3 people were left homeless after a fire at their Dededo house Sunday afternoon.
It was one of two house fires Sunday. The other one occurred in Barrigada on Sunday morning. No one was injured in either blaze.
Guam Fire Spokesman Lt. Phil Camacho says the Dededo home fire was reported shortly after 4pm Sunday on Adela Lane. The fire “completely destroyed” the wooden and tin extension on the home, says Lt. Camacho. The extension was used as a kitchen.
Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares says that her office and the Red Cross are assisting the 3 people displaced from that home.
An earlier fire at a home in Barrigada was called into 911 at 9:14am. It occurred at a home on San Vicente Street. Lt. Camacho says the blaze occurred in a single family concrete dwelling that had 1 bedroom.
No one was home at the time but officials say that 1 person was forced out of their home in this case.
Investigation are underway into the causes of both fires.
