Guam – The Adjutant General’s Cup, or TAG Cup, Combatives Tournament is scheduled for this Saturday, May 24, at the Guam High School Gymnasium, beginning at 9 a.m.
This is the first time that Combatives will be featured in the Annual TAG Cup. The Preliminaries on Saturday will pit “Air vs Air” and “Army vs Army”. The Army and Air winners, in each of the eight divisions, will go head to head in the Finals, currently scheduled for July 12th.
The public is invited and can access the Guam High School Gymnasium through the Naval Hospital housing side-gate in Agana Heights. The Guard’s Family Readiness Groups will also be selling food and drinks during the tournament which will last until about 1 p.m.
All Competitors are required to report to the Joint Forces Headquarters, Guam National Guard Readiness Center, in Barrigada, on Friday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., for their official weigh-in. Competitors that miss the weigh-in will not be allowed to compete on Saturday.
Combatives is the fourth event to take place in this year’s TAG Cup. Other events include Bowling, Fishing, All-Star Softball, Billiards, All-Star Basketball, All-Star Volleyball, Soccer, Cooking, a Talent Show, the Annual 5K Run and the Organizational Day Competition.
