Alice Taijeron has resigned as president of the Guam Housing Corporation to join Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero’s team in Adelup as deputy chief of staff.

Taijeron announced her resignation during the GHC board meeting Friday afternoon.

“Today will be my last board meeting with the Guam Housing Corporation. I officially submit my letter of resignation, not for any other reason than to answer the call from our governor to come to the front office as a Deputy Chief of Staff. So I’m officially submitting my letter of resignation to the board of directors,” Taijeron said.

Taijeron said resigning from GHC has been a very difficult decision for her because she loved working with Guam Housing Corporation.

“I loved working with the board. Thank you all for your support. I thank you all for your commitment to GHC and the mission and goals that we have to meet our mandate. I’ve enjoyed serving our people. But I’ve been asked to come and serve in another capacity,” Taijeron said.
