Guam – Tamuning Mayor Louise Rivera plans on blocking off the entrance to the Jonestown lookout point to curb illegal dumping in the area.

Rivera tells PNC that her office is working with the department of public works and Guam EPA on blocking off the access points to the Jonestown lookout to prevent further dumping. She says they are trying to contact the owners of the site to let them know they’ve blocked off access, but have been unsuccessful thus far. According to the Guam EPA air and land administrator Conchita Taitano, the owners of the property are off island. Taitano says GEPA will try and locate the people dumping the trash first before contacting the landowner. If the problem continues however, the landowner can face legal action.
