Tamuning Typhoons Wrap Up In Cairns

Cairns, Australia- The Tamuning Typhoons 14U boy’s and girl’s team completed their ECO Friendship Games on July 30 saving the best activity for it’s final day at Bendigo Bank Basketball Center in Cairns, Australia.

On July 30 the Typhoons attended game 3 in a best of three games between Australia and China women’s national teams. Australia defeated China 98-72. “This has been a golden opportunity for the Typhoons to attend a game and meet the national teams of two strong countries,” said traveling team coach Elsa Ulloa. Ulloa added that the players getting up close and personal with the players was a positive and learning experience at the top level of competitive basketball. “Both teams will be appearing in the 2012 Olympic games in London and the Typhoons will be cheering them on in next year’s games,” stated Ulloa.

“Overall the trip was fun and both teams did well,” stated Scott Ulloa in the boy’s 14U team. Teammate Junmao Wang agreed with Ulloa. “The best part was meeting the Australian 14U club teams and playing against them,” said Wang.
