The Guam Department of Education’s Improving Student Learning & Achievement (ISLA) Ayudante’ Project is facilitating training for all teacher assistants (TAs) and instructional program aides (IPAs) this week.
In line with the Guam Department of Education efforts to improve student performance, the ISLA: Ayudante’ Project has taken steps to train TAs and IPAs on strategies and best practices that will support students who may be struggling or falling behind in school.
Both TAs and IPAs provide services to students at both the elementary and secondary levels. Additionally, both TAs and IPAs play an important role in providing classroom assistance in addition to attending to the social and emotional needs of students.
The training is being held at the GDOE Tiyan headquarters 1st floor conference room from 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. from January 2 to 3, 2020. During the training, participants will explore topics including disability awareness, confidentiality, and reading instructional strategies.
This activity is administered by the Guam Department of Education Federal Programs Division & funded by the U.S. Department of Education Consolidated Grant to the Outlying Areas.
