Military, government, industry, and educational leaders are showcasing their technology this week as the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s Technet conference is held at the Hyatt.
Guam – If you were to ask someone in the Information Technology (IT) industry they’d tell you the military build-up is already here. That’s because there is a growing demand for technology within the Department of Defense. But the filed is growing outside the base too, which is why the AFCEA Technet conference brings together stakeholders from both sides of the fence.
Technet organizer Jonathon Richichi says private businesses are invited to participate because they drive technology along with the DOD and face many of the same cyber security threats.
Students in Science Technology Engineering and Math programs were also invited to attend so that they can aspire for a future in the IT industry. AFCEA also awards STEM grants to educators every year.
