Guam – The TGIF Friday’s Restaurant in Hagatna has closed its doors, a casualty of the slowdown in the military buildup, says the management.
The General Manager of the Hagatna store, Maria Omambac, tells PNC News that yesterday, Wednesday, was the restaurant’s last operational day. Some employees are being moved to the Tumon restaurant.
Omambac said they opened the Hagatna TGIF 2 years ago in anticipation of the military buildup. But she said that in the wake of the news that the buildup was being delayed and downsized, the shareholders and owners decided to close the Hagatna restaurant.
“The capacity of the restaurant is too big for the market in Hagatna,” said Omambac.
