Guam – Four high school seniors and a college freshman were awarded a total of $21-thousand cash scholarship prizes from the Adkins Scholarship Foundation.
These five students were the top finalists who participated in the annual Research Project Contest, which involves a written research project and an oral presentation from the top three finalists. The first place winner, Audrey Meno, received $10,000. The second place, Renee Blancaflor, received $6,000 and the third place, Jeffrey Kim, won $4,000. Places 4 and 5, Asia Meno and Taylor Toth, also received $500 each. Since 2005, The Adkins Scholarship Foundation, privately funded by local businessman James and wife Rosita Adkins, has awarded cash and scholarship prizes to students who have definite plans to continue their education after high school at a university, college, or technical trade school in the career field of their choice.
